Weekly Wrap Up #10

I'm signing up with the Caffeinated Reviewer for Sunday Post and Reader Buzz for Sunday Salon.

This week has been kinda hectic for me. We had little man's appt on Thursday and he is now in braces, we're going to have to figure out how to schedule in Physical Therapy. He's healing well and can do a lot more stuff by himself.
I ended up going in early twice this week, we had a tech coming to work on the embroidery machines I was supposed to shadow. We had planned for him to come on Tuesday, but he never showed. Then he showed up Friday. Thankfully I was already going in early to finish up some work but it threw my day into total chaos. I was running back and forth trying to learn stuff and trying to get work done. Thankfully I was able to get all of my in laws present done, eg the "work" I went in  early to finish. lol.
We're going over to my Mother-in-laws today to give gifts and all that jazz.

Book wise I'm a little all over the place. I ended up with a couple DNF's. One I just couldn't get into and one I was mislead by the cover. I kinda hate going into the book with a general idea of what the characters should look like based on the book art, then have that completely altered. If I'm expecting a mixed race couple don't give me the exact opposite. I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but also they shouldn't mislead a reader either. To be fair I did try to read it after my initial outrage and it didn't hold my attention it was generic and not very well written.

So my question this week is how do you all feel about misleading covers?

I was forced to take Snow Flower from the Little Library at work. Multiple co-workers said I needed to read this.
I received The Devil You Know from Book Sirens to review.

These two have been placed on the back burner.

  3. It has been crazy busy for you lately. Here's to life slowing down a bit soon.

I loved Snow Flower and the Secret Fan when I read it quite some time ago. I just learned today that the author has a new book out.

    More Fear Street!
