Weekly Wrap up #13

I'm signing up with the Caffeinated Reviewer for Sunday Post and Reader Buzz for Sunday Salon.

So much Snow!! We got hammered there were drifts in our driveway up to my hip. But it really wasn't that bad, the drifts were from blowing snow, not falling, which meant one spot could be super deep and right next to it nothing. I wish I'd taken a picture now. But we were more concerned with getting it cleaned up so I could get to work.
This week was weird work wise, my schedule change so I worked Monday then had Tuesday & Weds off then my normal schedule the rest of the week except I also worked the weekend something I haven't done since I got my new position. Next week is my normal schedule but this means I'm doing a nine day stint. The reason for this is that we were going to start rotating weekend but it's not gonna happen. One of our newbies is already leaving after only 3 weeks. It's the biggest problem with our work force, as most are Army spouses. Which she is and her husband is deploying so that means she's going home. It happens all the time and to be honest wasn't a huge surprise with everything that's going on in the world. But that means I am once again flying solo and the schedule is back to normal.
Little man had another Physical Therapy appt and he seems to be healing up fine. It took the insurance company a week to approve the MRI, but we finally have an appt for that as well.

Bookish news: I'm currently flip flopping between paranormal books (surprise) and fairytale retellings. I've been in the mood for a good historical romance, but haven't been able to find anything that fits the bill.

  1. And yet here we still haven't seen the snow! Now that can be very frustrating when there is a high turn over in staff indeed. I hope your week will be good!

    1. Lucky! It can get frustrating, but we also know to expect it. Thanks, you too!

  2. No snow, but plenty of cold (at least what we consider cold...anything that we have to put on something other than shorts and flipflops!)

It's rough when your work force can be changing at any time. I hope your newbie will be quickly replaced and you will be able to rotate weekends.

  3. We get a lot of wind at our house so when it snows, it drift a lot you you had. Nice book haul! I'm reading The Rose Code which is a great historical novel, if you haven't already read it.

    1. We tend to get the wind in off the lake. Thanks, I'll look into it.

  4. The employment situation is getting a lot of attention in the press: as you say, your place of work is pretty typical with understaffing and people rotating in and then out. I hope things get better for you and everyone.

    1. The rotation was the norm even before the employment problem, it's just effects us more now. Thank you.

  5. I don't imagine cleaning up the snow is all that fun, but it's a necessary task. I hope things at work settle into a more normal routine again soon. I imagine that can be challenging with staffing changes occurring so often. Right now for my agency, it's absences because of COVID or family emergencies. It's putting a strain on everyone who is able to work.

Caine House sounds good. I hope you are enjoying it! Have a great week!

    1. No it's not but it's necessary if we want to leave the house, although with the temps that's debatable too. Covid hit us not to long ago, it was a problem for other parts of the store but not really our dept. Although it did put a strain on management. Thanks, hope you have a great week too.

  7. I hope you get more help. I don't know if you would like it as it is historical mystery and romance, but I loved the Wrexford & Sloane series by Andrea Penrose.

  10. That is a lot of snow! I'm glad little man is healing up well and hopefully the MRI will come back clear and PT will continue to go well. I'm a big fan of PT. It can make such a difference. Good luck with your schedule and have a wonderful week!
