This week was kinda crazy as we got ready for Halloween at home and The Harry Potter event at work. It's my daughter's senior year so she got to dress up and we had so much fun working on her costume, She went as Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil games. I made her a shirt and patches at work. She said that one of the teacher's asked her if it was a real cop jacket, lol. Sadly this is the last year my son will be dressing up he is Cardinal Biggles from Monty Pythons Flying Circus. We're going to be having a Halloween Party for them tonight decorating sugar cookies and watching scary movies.
For the Harry Potter event I dressed up as Tonks and maned Ollivander's Wand shop. It was so much fun!! We wound up making one lady cry, she came in with three kids and they all wanted wands. You could tell it was upsetting her to tell the kids no, but she was like I'm sorry guys we can't afford it. So I gave each of the kids a display wand and some extra candy. We had so many wands that I doubt a couple will be missed. Besides the look on the kids faces was priceless, one of things I love about my job is being able to do things like that. It makes working there fulfilling.
Warning: Photo dump ahead!!

Ok sorry for all the pics but I really wanted to share.
Onto bookish things, although I guess the HP event counts too.
Although it's been crazy I've gotten a bunch of reading done. Well kinda I've been cheating and using the text to speech function on my kindle so I can listen while working or cleaning or sewing or whatever.

So have you done or doing anything fun for Halloween? Are you going Trick or Treating? Or read any spooky reads?
Comment and leave me a link so I can return the visit.

DeleteI love to dress up in costumes. That was one of my favorite parts of being a librarian. I'm tempted to wear my fortuneteller's costume tonight. I did costume-out my Little Free Library. Hope we will have a lot of trick-or-treaters. Your kids look fantastic.
